The Budgell Family

The Budgell Family

At 29 weeks pregnant, I began experiencing severe back pain. Before I even realized I was in labour, a medevac aircraft was flying me from Fort McMurray to Edmonton for an emergency caesarean section.

My baby girls Charlie and Hazel weighed only 3 pounds at birth and needed specialized NICU care in this city 400 kilometres from home. A social worker suggested that my husband and I stay at the Ronald McDonald House® while our girls grew stronger.

Thanks to donors like you, I was able to be near my babies in the NICU and I didn’t have to miss out on any time with them in Edmonton. It meant the world to have a safe place to stay, where I could connect with others going through similar experiences.

Now, almost one year later, Hazel and Charlie are growing so much, and they’re about to celebrate their first birthday in May.

With your gift today, you can help another family find a home away from home when they need it most. Please donate below to ensure more families like mine can stay together and focus on their child’s well-being.
